Author Guidelines
- Scope
MAPAN accepts scholarly manuscripts in the fields of educational management, education policy, and data analysis in the management of education systems, in one of the following forms:- •Conceptual thinking or critical analysis
- •Literature review
- •Empirical research findings
- •Policy reviews or data-driven applied policy studies
- Manuscript Type and Language
Manuscripts must be written entirely in good and correct English, including the abstract and keywords (no Indonesian version required). Authors are responsible for the accuracy of grammar, terminology, and scholarly writing style. - Originality and Publication Ethics
Manuscripts must be original work, not previously published, and not under review at another journal. All citations and references must follow academic ethics and comply with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Manuscripts are screened for similarity using Turnitin, with a maximum overall similarity threshold of 20%. Full details are available on the Plagiarism Screening Policy page. - Manuscript Format
Manuscripts must be prepared using the official MAPAN template (.doc/.docx). Formatting requirements include:- •Length: 4,000 to 7,000 words, excluding references and appendices
- •Margins: 3 cm on all sides (top, bottom, left, right)
- •Line spacing: 1.15; Font: Cambria 12 pt
- •Manuscript structure: Title; Author name(s) and affiliation; Abstract and keywords (English); Introduction; Methodology; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; References
- Abstract Structure
The abstract is written in English, with a maximum of 250 words, covering the purpose, method, findings, and conclusion of the study, accompanied by 3 to 5 keywords. - Reference and Citation Style
This journal follows the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition style, using an in-text citation system (author-date format), not footnotes or endnotes. The reference list must include a minimum of 25 primary references, with at least 80% sourced from scholarly journals published within the last 10 years.- •Authors are encouraged to use a reference management application (such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote) to maintain consistent citation and reference formatting according to APA 7th Edition style, and to minimize citation errors.
- Submission and Review Process
Authors register and submit their manuscript through the Open Journal System (OJS) on the official MAPAN website. Manuscripts go through the following stages: initial screening by the editor, review by peer reviewers (double-blind peer review), revision and proofreading, and finally publication online and/or in print. MAPAN does not charge authors any fees of any kind, including submission fees or Article Processing Charges (APC). Full details are available on the Publication Fees Policy page. - Copyright and Licensing
Copyright of published articles remains with the author. By publishing with MAPAN, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, distribute, and index the article. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. Full terms are available on the Open Access Policy page.
