Abstract

Digitalisasi pendidikan tinggi memunculkan ketegangan antara idealitas Islam berkemajuan Muhammadiyah dan praktik transformasi sosial teknologis kontemporer. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji sejauh mana paradigma tajdid Muhammadiyah relevan sebagai kerangka perubahan institusional di pendidikan tinggi Islam. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan normative kualitatif berbasis library research dengan teknik content analysis terhadap literatur bereputasi serta dokumen institusional, disertai ilustrasi kasus pada beberapa Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah dan ‘Aisyiyah (PTMA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tajdid tidak sekadar konsep teologis, tetapi berfungsi sebagai mekanisme adaptif yang mengintegrasikan nilai keislaman, rasionalitas ilmiah, dan inovasi digital dalam tata kelola akademik dan pengembangan kurikulum. Artikel ini berargumen bahwa kapasitas adaptif PTMA berakar pada fondasi ideologis pembaruan Islam, bukan semata respons teknologis. Temuan ini memperkuat model konseptual pendidikan tinggi Islam transformatif yang mampu mensinergikan tradisi dan modernitas secara berkelanjutan.
